My First Post.....

This is my first post of many, hopefully, and I am making a vow to continue to post in this blog about our Army journey.

Jeff enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in July. He worked really hard to be able to join and I have never been more proud of him. He answered a call to serve our country, to make sacrifices, and to be part of something greater than any one person.

He has already gone to two weekend drills and will be leaving in September for two weeks for Annual Training (AT). He will be leaving for Basic Training in November to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and then it's off to Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri for AIT. The MOS he picked is a 74D which is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Warfare Specialist, whew that was a mouth full so we just call it CBRN.

He is assigned to a brand new unit, A-CO 98th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, in Denver CO and he really likes it. Ever since he was a little boy playing with G.I. Joe it has been a dream of his to be in the Army, so when you ask him why he joined that is what he will tell you. The funny part is when you ask him why it took him so long to join, he will tell you that he is not the greatest at math and let's leave it at that.
